Fees

Flat fees, set before you book, split between you

The fit call is free. After that, you choose a half-day or full-day session, and add a written agreement if you'd like us to draft it. Most people need one or two sessions.

  • Half-day session

    Most booked

Three and a half hours by video. Enough for most parenting plans, workplace disputes and family care decisions.

    • A private intake call with each of you
    • Up to 3.5 hours with the mediator
    • Separate rooms on the call
    • A written summary within two working days
    • Each party's own lawyer
    Term:
    Per session

    Usually split evenly between you

  • Full-day session

Seven hours, with a break. For separations with property and accounts, and for business partners.

    • A private intake call with each of you
    • Up to 7 hours with the mediator
    • Separate rooms on the call
    • A written summary within two working days
    • Each party's own lawyer
    Term:
    Per session

    Usually split evenly between you

  • Written agreement

We turn what you agreed into a signed memorandum of understanding that either lawyer can review.

    • A full draft from your session summaries
    • One round of changes for both of you
    • A final copy for each party
    • Court filing fees
    • Filing or court appearances
    Term:
    Flat

    Added after any session

Fees are usually split evenly; you can agree on another split. Appraisals, valuations, court filing fees and each person's own lawyer are separate.

How the fee works

No hourly billing and no retainer. You know the number before you book.

  • Paid before the session

Each of you pays your share by card or bank transfer before the call starts.

  • Moved, not lost

Reschedule up to two working days ahead at no charge. Later than that, half the fee is kept.

  • Booked by an employer

When a workplace session is booked by the employer, it pays the full fee.

  • Running over

If you're close to done when time runs out, we'll ask you both before going on, and the extra time is shared the same way as the session fee.

Splitting and paying the fee

Do we have to split the fee evenly?

No. Many people split it evenly, some by income, and sometimes one person pays it all. Tell us what you've agreed.

Is there anything we pay for later?

Only what you choose: a written agreement, or another session. Court filing fees are paid to the court, not to us.

Can we use more than one session?

Yes. Each session is booked and priced on its own. Many families book a second half day a week or two after the first.

Questions about the fee?

Ask on the fit call. It's free, and either of you can book it.
